It’s a few blocks from the parade route, but Federal Donuts’ Pride doughnut is worth the detour. Every weekend in June, these rainbow treats — vanilla cream glaze and colorful nonpareils — will be available at all of the mini-chain’s locations (except Citizens Bank Park). For each Pride doughnut sold, Federal Donuts will donate $1 to the William Way LGBT Community Center.

Just two blocks from the start of the parade, Amis serves pasta for its Sunday brunch, plus Italian takes on traditional breakfast fare like pancakes and eggs. With the trattoria closing at the end of the summer, now is the time to go.

Some of the best options on this restaurant-packed stretch of 13th Street are owned by Marcie Turney and Valerie Safran. Brunch at the couple’s retro Midwestern spot Bud & Marilyn’s, right at the start of the parade route, features a full cocktail menu, fried cheese curds, beet-cured salmon, and a long list of filling morning fare.

The parade begins at 11:30 a.m., making UBar (open daily from 11 a.m.) a perfect place to start the festivities with a beer and an early lunch. Fare at this Gayborhood pub is mostly traditional bar food, with a changing daily special.

Half a block from the parade’s stroll down Locust Street, Cheu Noodle Bar’s creative ramen offerings are always tasty. Not in the mood for noodles? Check out the weekend Happy Hour specials later in the day (from 3-5 p.m.), which include $7 cocktails and $5 appetizers.

P.J. Clarke’s in the Curtis building just added sidewalk seating at Sixth and Walnut, making it a good spot to take a parade break with oysters and bubbly, or a burger and a beer, outside in the sun.

Make a quick High Street on Market stop to grab a pastry and an “adult coffee” (with bourbon cream) or go for a sandwich on the excellent house-made bread.

Cool off during the parade with some frozen treats from this movie-themed dessert shop on Market Street. Specialty items include Butterbeer and Dragon’s Breath: corn puffs drenched in liquid nitrogen.

Rolling with a parade posse that includes both vegans and meat eaters? Visit Khyber Pass Pub in Old City, near the festival site. The restaurant has enough surf ‘n’ turf po’ boys and vegan pulled pork to go around, and plenty of beer to wash it all down — plus beignets.

The parade will march right past Stephen Starr’s Continental, a perfectly situated spot for either a pre-Pride parade brunch or after-party drinks. The small plates menu spans the globe and the drinks are playful, like the Astronaut made with Tang.

You won’t go wrong with any of the chocolates or candies at Shane Confectionery, a sweets shop from the brothers behind ice cream destinations Franklin Fountain and Franklin Ice Cream Bar on the same block. During Pride Month, stop by Shane for rainbow marshmallows and other colorful sweets, including chocolate-covered pretzels and caramel corn. On parade day, the two ice cream shops will be giving away rainbow jimmies, to be eaten or used as confetti.
