You don’t have to be a GTL devotee to be pained by the caloric wallop of adult beverages. It’s not just margaritas and soda mixers fluffing up your summer figure, either—there are 220 bready cals in a single Bell’s Two Hearted Ale. Get drunk, not fat.

In the interest of taking back drinking smart from reality TV bottled-cocktail pushers like Bethenny Frankel (SkinnyGirl) and DJ Pauly D (Remix), we sussed out naturally light cocktails around town, even when their makers decried and protested any association with lower-calorie drinks.

“I honestly think this whole phenomenon is complete horseshit,” said Colin Shearn, general manager of the Franklin Mortgage & Investment Co. “Speaking as a fat person, that’s going to sound ironic.”
