Where to Watch the Taney Dragons in the Little League World Series

View as Map

Even if you don't usually get into sports, you're probably going to want to drop everything tonight to watch the Taney Dragons continue their gripping Little League World Series run. 2014 Mid-Atlantic Little League champs in just their second season as an officially chartered Little League team, the Dragons have been inspiring major sports fervor while our pro teams have been leaving an awful lot to be desired.

So check out our guide below and cheer on the Dragons as their quarterfinal game against Mountain Ridge (Nevada) airs on ESPN at 7:30 p.m. tonight (Here's the full bracket with an explanation of the format.) In the meantime, check out ESPN's Sport Science analyzing the impressive form and velocity of Dragon's star pitcher, 13 year-old Mo'ne Davis. (She even landed the cover of Sports Illustrated this week.)

Are you showing the game at your bar? Hit us up via the tipline or on Twitter to be added — and make sure to include any special deals you're running for the game.

José Pistola's

During the game, Jose Pistola's is offering 1% off your tab for each strikeout Taney throws — and they'll double that in the event of a Dragons win. With Mo'ne back on the mound tonight, that could prove pretty lucrative.

McGillin's Olde Ale House

McGillin's is always a good bet — they've been showing all the games and there's always a long list of drink specials running on Wednesday nights.

City Hall Courtyard

The city will host a watch party again in the courtyard at City Hall, with a pep raly beginning at 6:30 p.m. before screening the game at 7:30. (Or, hit the pep rally, then head over to McGillin's or down to Pistola's to watch the game over a few drinks.) [Photo: J Smith for GPTMC]

City Tap House UCity

With Yards Philly Pale Ale on special for $3 during the game, this should be one of the liveliest places in the city to watch.

Doobie's

Doobie's has been enthusiastically showing all the Dragons' games, and they're promising strikeout specials.

Taproom on 19th

The Taproom is running these World Series Specials: · $3.00 Yuengling Bottles · $3.00 Chesterfield Drafts · $12.00 Chesterfield Pitchers · $2.50 Miller High Lifes

Sto's Bar & Restaurant

The neighborhood bar has a number of food and drink specials on Wednesdays, including $8 pitchers and $3 drafts, and probably the most comfy, low-key vibe you'll find in Old City.

The 700

While many of the NoLibs bars we called to research who was showing the first Taney game gave us an answer along the lines of "What? Um, if it's on ESPN, sure, you can always ask the bartender to put it on," the 700 opened their doors early for the Dragons' first game. That speaks to their enthusiasm (and we don't think there's any soccer at 7:30, anyway).

JJ Bootleggers

The moonshine-themed bar will have the game on, and it just happens to coincide with all-you-can-eat mussels night ($14.95). If you get there early, you can even squeeze in some quizzo starting at 6:30 p.m., and they'll have $3 draft specials from 5-9 p.m.

Royal Tavern

The Royal might not be your first thought for watching sports, but they've been getting very into Taney baseball (and hey, the food's a lot better than most sports bars).

XFINITY Live! Philadelphia

The watch party at Xfinity Live starts at 6:30 p.m. and promises to be family-friendly. The game will be on the massive screen, they'll have cocktail specials, and part of the proceeds from the night will go to the Taney Youth Baseball Association.(NBC10 will be there, too, so make sure you show up camera-ready.)

Sancho Pistola's

As of tonight's game, Sancho's will be running the same strikeout special that big brother Jose's been running for each game: During the game, everyone gets 1% off their tab for each strikeout Taney throws — and they'll double that in the event of a Dragons win.
